Decree Monthly Digest is a summary of the most significant legislation issued in the previous month.
January was a relatively slow month for royal decrees as only seven royal decrees were issued and none of them related to the promulgation or amendment of laws. The first royal decree of the year was the usual royal decree ratifying the General Budget of the State for the year 2023, this was followed by two royal decrees declaring public benefit status to construct dams in Wadi Adnoub and Wadi Annar in Dhofar, and four royal decrees ratifying the following treaties:
- The Protocol to Amend the Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on Board Aircraft.
- The Protocol Amending the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye for Air Services.
- The Agreement on the System of the Linkage of the Payment Systems between the States of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
- The Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia and its Amending Protocols.
In addition to the royal decrees mentioned above, about 15 ministerial decisions were published in the Official Gazette during this month, with the most significant ones being MOCIIP’s Regulation Governing the Procedures for Identifying the Beneficial Owner, MOH’s Schedule of Communicable Diseases, Ministry of Interior’s Elections Tender System, and CMA’s new standard insurance policies for Extended Warranty on Vehicles and Credit Life Insurance.
