Since launching Lex AI as your dedicated Omani legal research assistant, we have continually looked for ways to make your research faster, smarter, and more intuitive. Today, we are thrilled to announce a major update to Lex AI, introducing fully agentic capabilities, significantly enhanced output, and robust conversation management tools.
Following our recent iOS update, we are excited to announce that the latest features are now officially live for Android. We’ve brought the same enhanced browsing capabilities to the Google Play Store, ensuring that all our mobile users have the full power of Decree at their fingertips.
The update is available now for all users with a subscription bundle that includes Lex AI.

Under Omani law, when a company liquidates, creditors have exactly six months from the Official Gazette announcement to file a claim for unpaid dues. Similarly, during a corporate merger or acquisition, an absorbed company is formally dissolved, and creditors have a strict, short window (as little as 30 days) to formally object if their outstanding debts are at risk. We’ve just released an update to the Decree iOS app, bringing more of the Decree experience directly to your mobile device.
While the app’s primary focus remains giving you mobile access to Decree Lex AI, this update introduces the ability to browse the latest Royal Decrees and Ministerial Decisions without leaving the app.
We are releasing today the Decree mobile app, a major new expansion of Decree’s platform that allows Decree members to bring the full power of Lex AI with them wherever they go.
We are releasing today Lex AI Spotlight, a major new feature to Decree’s artificial intelligence legal research assistant that allows Decree members to ask Lex AI questions about the specific item that they are already viewing.
For example, when a member views the Personal Income Tax Law, a new Ask Lex button will appear on the corner of the page. The user can use this command to ask questions about the Personal Income Tax Law without having to query Decree’s entire database. This process is usually faster and can provide more accurate answers when the user needs information from a single specific item.
When Lex AI Spotlight is unable to find the answer in the currently viewed item, the user will be advised to use the full version of Lex AI.
Lex AI and Lex AI Spotlight are available through a bundle subscription to Decree. They are available for free for all Decree members on all subscription plans for the whole of the month of September.
You can try Lex AI Spotlight on most pages on Decree, including the Personal Income Tax Law, the Penal Law, the Personal Data Protection Law, and many more.
Lex AI, Decree’s artificial intelligence legal research assistance, receives a major update today by upgrading to GPT-5, the new cutting-edge artificial intelligence model from OpenAI.
Lex AI generates its answers exclusively from Decree’s database of translated Omani legislation and case summaries while providing full citations and references for all answers generated. Using GPT-5, Lex AI now runs at a faster speed and provides significantly improved analysis of Decree’s content to answer user questions, summarise the law, and create compliance checklists.

We are launching today Decree Toolkits—a new feature on Decree for helping organisations improve their compliance operations by identifying key obligations imposed by Omani legislation.
The Oman Legal Citation Standard (OLCS) was first launched in 2016 as a guide for creating a standard format for citing Omani legal authorities in academic works and legal documents. The previous version of the OLCS only covered the rules for citing Omani legislation of all levels. We updated the OLCS to include new rules for citing Omani court judgments as well as Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs fatwas.
We received a lot of feedback from the use of Lex AI by the members of Decree over the past couple of weeks, and this enabled us to better understand how our members use the service and the kind of answers they expect. Based on this feedback, we made several changes to Lex AI:
– Lex AI is now fully conversational and appears as a chat thread to make it easier for the user to continue conversing with Lex. Even though the original version of Lex had conversational capabilities, the tool behaved more as a single question single answer tool.
– Lex AI question box now allows you to insert a larger amount of text that appears as a paragraph block. The original version of Lex accepted a smaller amount of text that was limited to a single line in the search box.
– Lex AI now lets you copy the text using a share button under each response message. This is useful for individuals who need to use the answers generated by Lex.
– To improve the quality of the answers, Lex by default will not include in its analysis any repealed law. If the user wishes for repealed laws to be considered, the user would have to check a new box for this above the chat box message. This is usually necessary for comparing differences between an old and a new law.
– We also made some technical improvements to the logic of Lex to improve the quality of the answers.
